In Felanitx, the festivities in honour of the patron saints, mainly held in the summer, are particular important. In recent years, new initiatives have emerged to revive and promote the traditional festivals.

 

In Felanitx:

20th July: St. Margaret, patron saint of Felanitx. On this day, in the afternoon, the Cavallets perform in the streets, accompanied by a parade of the giants, the devils, the cabezudos (giant figures with big heads) and the xeremiers. In the evening a popular festival is held.

28th August: Sant Agustí. On this day, the Cavallets perform again in the morning, and after the mass in the convent church of Sant Agustí, accompanied by a parade with the giants, the devils, the cabezudos (giant figures with big heads) and the xeremiers.

 

In Portocolom:

16th July: Virgen del Carmen.

25th July: Sant Jaume (St. James).

 

In s'Horta:

15th May: San Isidre. Patron saint of s'Horta and Whitsun.


In Cas Concos:

10th September: St. Nicholas of Tolentino, patron saint of Cas Concos.

 

In Es Carritxó:

17th January: St. Anthony's Day.

On St. Anthony's Day in Felanitx, Es Carritxó and other villages of the township, they celebrate the Beneïdes (blessing of domestic animals and livestock) with parades and floats. Lighting bonfires (foguerons) is also a tradition.

 

In Son Negre:

They celebrate the feast of St. Anthony.

 

In Son Proenç:

They celebrate the feast of St. Anthony.


In Son Valls:

Celebrations of Christ the King: the Sunday before the 1st Advent.


In Son Mesquida:

8th December: the Immaculate.
